Build Production-ready, Agentic AI Systems in a few lines of code using the open source Strands Agents SDK
[1.5 Hours] Learn to build AI agents for real-world apps using Strands SDK. Strands simplifies agent development by leveraging state of the art models to plan, chain thoughts and call tools. In this workshop, you will gain hands-on experience creating agents across diverse use cases.

Workshop Overview
About This Workshop
AI agents are moving from demos to production and getting there means more than just calling an LLM. In this hands-on workshop, you'll build AI agents using the open source Strands Agents SDK, the same framework used internally for production agentic systems at Amazon.
Strands is a model-driven framework that lets state-of-the-art models handle the reasoning, planning, and tool use so you can focus on what your agent actually does.
You'll start by building a working agent in just a few lines of Python, then progressively layer in real-world capabilities like connecting your agent to external tools. Along the way, you'll see how Strands agents scale from a local prototype to a cloud-deployed system.
What You'll Walk Away With
-
Hands-on experience building agents that plan, reason, and call tools autonomously
-
An understanding of how Strands lets the LLM drive planning and tool selection, so you write less orchestration code
-
The ability to extend your agent's capabilities by connecting it to external tools
-
Awareness of deployment paths from prototype to production on AWS
Requirements
-
Laptop with a modern browser and internet access
-
Some Python familiarity preferred, but not required
-
No prior agent development experience required
